Living Our Core Value of Integrity: Supporting Guide Dogs at LVVSC

Blue, a dedicated guide dog, recently visited our ophthalmology team at Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center (LVVSC) for an eye screening through the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists service animal screening program. These evaluations help ensure working dogs maintain the eye health and visual function they rely on to safely perform their important roles every day.

For guide dogs, vision is an essential tool that helps them navigate the world. It also keeps their handlers safe and provides them with life-changing independence. Routine ophthalmic screenings can help identify concerns early, supporting these remarkable animals throughout their working careers.

Blue's examination was performed by board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists Drs. Sharon Weinstein and Benjamin Reynolds, who are proud to participate in programs that support the health and well-being of service animals in our community.
