Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services Gives Voice to the Voiceless

Valuing our communities means bolstering efforts that protect animals beyond the walls of our hospitals. At Greater Staten Island Veterinary Service (GSiVS), the team partners with the District Attorney’s Office, ASPCA and NYPD to support investigations and care related to animal cruelty cases across the borough.

In these situations, law enforcement and the ASPCA often work together to investigate reports, remove animals from harmful environments and pursue legal action. GSiVS contributes veterinary expertise by helping assess an animal’s condition, providing treatment and documenting findings that may help inform the case. Through this work, GSiVS helps ensure animals receive compassionate care while contributing to broader efforts to hold individuals accountable and protect the community.

This collaboration underscores the important role veterinary teams can play in advancing justice and advocacy for animals in need.
