Caring for the Caregivers at Garden State Veterinary Specialists Eatontown

We believe caring for our people is just as important as caring for our patients. In a profession rooted in compassion, our teams regularly guide clients through some of life’s most overwhelming moments, and that responsibility can carry a lasting impact.

Recognizing this, the team at Garden State Veterinary Specialists (GSVS) Eatontown has partnered with Patricia Davis, LCSW, VSW, C-AAIS to create opportunities for reflection and support. Through a series of events, teammates have gained tools to navigate grief. Sessions like “Compassion Fatigue” focused specifically on supporting hospital staff, offering practical strategies for managing the emotional demands of the job.

Additional sessions, including “Heart to Heart on Healing” and “Preparing the Heart” were open to both teammates and the public. Held in honor of Pet Remembrance Day, “Heart to Heart on Healing” created a meaningful space to honor the pets we’ve lost, while “Preparing the Heart” offered guidance around anticipatory loss and end-of-life decision-making. These conversations not only supported clients but also helped our teams feel less alone in the moments they navigate every day.

By investing in resources like these, GSVS Eatontown reinforces a culture where empathy is encouraged and respected, not quieted or depleted.
